A Few Of My Favourite Things

I love trying new alternatives to the not so healthy foods that I sometimes want both for myself and my clients.

Here are a few of the snacks and foods that I go to for sweetness or a savoury hit :)

Choc Shot (14kcals per tspn)
I drizzle this on yogurt and berries in the afternoon to give my snack a chocolatey hit. It's also a bit like old school "Ice Magic" for those of you old enough to remember when you put it on top of frozen yogurt or ice cream :) Available in most supermarkets £3.50.

Metcalfs Topcorn (115kcals)
I can't tell you how much I love this stuff! There are lots of different flavours to suit all palates but this sweet 'n' salt is my favourite :) You can find this brand and many others in all the major supermarkets.

Popchips (95kcals)
A healthier way to enjoy a savoury snack. These little bags are so good "once you pop you can't stop" but without all the nasty stuff from a certain brand! For you triathletes out there Mirinda Carfrae x3 Ironman World Champion was photographed eating these during the marathon of a qualifying race! Available in most supermarkets.

Bounce Balls (180kcals)
Little balls that pack a big punch! A great protein hit (to keep you fuller longer) and lots of different flavours. Chocolate, nuts, coconut, mint something to please everyone. Better than heading to the vending machine! Available in specialist food stores and some supermarkets or online.

Nakd Bars (135kcals)
So much choice, so little time! I love the chocolate orange and I have ready to try the Bakewell Tart, for a cherry and almond lover I think this is going to be a new fave! Available in most supermarkets.

Love Raw (161kcals)
A completely raw, organic, vegan and super tasty and easy to eat bar. They are not the cheapest but they are one of my favourite post workout healthy snacks. 4 flavours, Cacao & Maca, Coconut & Chai, Cacao & Spirulina, Rosehip & Lemon (super yummy!) Specialist food stores or online.

Natures Store Free From Coconut Bars (196kcals)
If you are like me and you love coconut then you are seriously going to love these! I have only found them in Waitrose/Ocado so far but I suspect they are in some specialist foods stores too.

Kallo Chocolate Rice Cakes (56kcal per cake)
I love the big crunch and chocolate hit of these rice cakes. If you have hated plain rice cakes then I think you will feel differently about these little beauties! I sometimes add a tspn peanut butter which makes them seriously moreish! In the health food section of your local supermarket you will find different brands, try them and see and let me know what you think :)

Dates with Nut Butter (103kcal per date with butter)
So I try to limit myself to eating these post workout! A delicious fruit and savoury hit! Use any nut butter you like almond, cashew, walnut, hazlenut (aka healthy nutella!) or just plain old peanut!

I hope you like the sound of these little beauties and if you try them and enjoy them, I'd love to hear from you :)
